In the mood for a cozy mystery book? Deadly Summer by Denise Grover Swank is the first in the Darling Investigation series. Summer Butler was once the teenage star of the TV show "Gotcha." Now ten years later she is a washed-up TV star and about to not only lose her house but also the family farm. As a last resort at getting her finances in check, she is offered a reality TV show being a PI. The downside though is that it is in her hometown of Sweet Briar and even worst is that Sweet Briar is a small town filled with gossipy birds and history and for Summer, that history isn't all good. Back home now Summer will have to not only face a lot of demons and family issues but when one of her first cases - a missing person turns up dead and then not one but two connected to the dead, missing person is also killed. Now Summer is determined to solve the mystery of who killed Otto? If that wasn't bad enough, Summer has a crazed fan stalker - Sebastian Jenkins to deal with. Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
