Lumberjanes, Vol. 6: Sink or Swim

Review: Lumberjanes - #Volume Six - Sink or Swim - Various Creators - April 2017

April is convinced that the team needs to focus on getting "real" Lumberjane badges as they have been so busy fighting the supernatural, that they haven't had a chance to earn any badges to go on their sashes. April talks the cabin into trying to get their knot tying badge from Seafarin' Karen. Of course, what's a Lumberjane graphic novel without a bit of excitement and supernatural fun? It turns out that Karen is, in fact, a werewolf and her ship have been overtaken by some Seals who are stuck in their human form as supposedly Karen stole their pelts. Now the team must help Karen get her boat back, figure out a way to find the pelts and get their knot tying badges. While three of them stay on the shore and help Karen, Molly and Ripley will hop with the Bear Woman into the portals and help from that end. I have to admit, this wasn't my favorite as such in the Lumberjanes series, and I wondered as after reading it, I found that Noelle Stevenson has passed the reins on to a new creator. We do see in Sink and Swim; the relationship grows a step closer between Mal and Mol when they share their first actual kiss. Can the Lumberjanes save the day once again?
Find out in Volume Six of the Lumberjanes Graphic Novels - Sink or Swim.
